A Vision of the Harvest 7-23-99
Amongst the books I read are some by Rick Joyner. I had just begun (second time through) reading “Visions of the Harvest.” Some things revealed to him have also been brought to my attention by the Holy Spirit. The following dream and interpretation came to me on July 23, 1999.
I was in a square field of 40 acres. The owner had just finished harvesting the crop of several varieties of nuts. A young lad of about 10 years of age was there and gave me a few nut meats. The hulls (shells) which had been run through a hammer mill were now ground into small broken fragments and were scattered on the ground in neat rows all through the field. I looked for nut meats that I might glean from the broken shells. There were none. I commented to the lad, “There are no good nuts left here.” As I began leaving, I noticed that near the edge of the field were a few whole walnuts. I stomped on one trying to break it. My action caused it to become further buried or depressed in the dirt. But it did break enough that I could see that the inside had good meat. So I picked it up along with the few others I could find. The nut trees had all been removed and the rich black soil was now ready for planting. This time it was to be a vineyard.
Interpretation
The overall context deals with the coming judgments which God is sending to purify his body, the Church, in order to fight the final battle for the souls of men.
The Field: This could represent any particular denomination. In this case, it is the one with which I am most involved on a local level which happens to be Foursquare. This, in the dream, is the 40 square acres. In the figure 40, the zero has no value. That leaves foursquare.
The nut trees (denominations) will be removed. The church Christ Jesus is building is likened unto a vineyard: closely intertwined and all the branches abiding in the vine.
The nut fields (denominations) that man has built are scattered and not compacted with the rest of the body. They try to find unity but maintain their denominational dividing walls (the hammer mill judgments).
In the coming judgments, these nut trees (denominations) will lose their identity. There will be such strong persecution and tribulations, so much chaos, anarchy, that it will be impossible for these exclusive (separated to themselves) bodies to survive.
Man-made membership roles will be judged and purged in the coming judgments and only His heavenly record “The Book of Life” will be left standing. God will no longer allow man-made guidelines to determine membership in His church. This judging and branding His sheep will soon come to an end.
The hulls (shells) represent the outer man, the flesh, the carnal mind. Those who allow and welcome God’s judgments to bring them brokenness and humility will act as seed and fertilizer for the next great event, the Harvest. Jesus said that except a kernel of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone, but if it die, it beareth much fruit.
Those who allow themselves to be crucified with Christ will rise up with power and authority and will be used mightily in the next great move of God.
The whole walnuts near the edge represent some church leaders God will allow to live through the coming judgments, but whose shell (carnal nature) has not been broken and surrendered to Jesus; however, inside they have a good heart.
Me stomping one, trying to break the shell represents the intercessions and prayers and spiritual warfare I do in their behalf. This can bring about the chastening of the Lord toward them which may seem grievous until the shell is broken and the good which is inside is manifested.
The young lad about 10 years of age could approximate the time it takes for
God’s dealing in getting the spots and wrinkles out of His church in order for
her to be His holy, pure bride. “Behold, the devil shall cast some of you into
prison, that ye may be tried 10 days; be thou faithful unto death and I will
give thee a crown of life.” Revelation 2:10.
