He
Meets Me There
In
just six days God’s work was through
Creation
is finished, no more to do
He
took time to rest and look into the blue.
He
sanctified the Sabbath for me and for you.
Was
God really tired? Did he need
rest?
He
did it for us so we would be blest.
Man
is so weak, yet he thinks himself strong
Since
he ate of that tree
A
lot has gone wrong.
Man
changed the Sabbath
And
replaced it with day one.
Did
this authority come from the Son?
Did
God sit back and say, “It’s
ok?
I
guess I will let you have it your way.
I
guess you think you are bigger than me
Ever
since the day you ate of that tree
At
least you hope so, but soon we will see.”
Jesus
said to the weary, “Come unto me,
Find
rest for your soul, find sweet liberty.”
I
did this and now I am free
To
share what the Lord of Sabbath means to me.
Like
a car in the desert
Where
the heat is cruel
My
energy is spent and I am needing fuel
I
stop at the station
That
is called Sabbath day
For
24 hours that is where I stay.
HE
MEETS ME THERE!
Like
a car with a battery that is overtaxed
By
the end of six days I am stuck in my track
Thank
God for the Sabbath, again I am relaxed.
HE
MEETS ME THERE!
The
tires a turnin’ on the hot ground
They
seem almost flat from racing around
But
the breeze of the Spirit
Blows
gently around
When
on God’s Sabbath I simply lie down
HE
MEETS ME THERE!
Like
a car in the heat when the water is low
The
radiator boils, I better go slow.
How
far to rest? Stop? Many don’t
know.
It’s
only six miles
To
the Sabbath I go.
HE
MEETS ME THERE!
Like
a race car with dingy oil
Tough
competition causes you toil
Seems
like a track with no rest stop
The
world really keeps you right on the hop
But
God’s highway
Has
an overnight stay
And
for 24 hours you can just lay
And
bask in the Son, relax and pray
He’ll
give fresh oil and you need not pay
Just
enter his rest
HE
MEETS ME THERE!
