Helpful Hints
I was in prayer regarding a certain ministry whose main ministry was food distribution to the poor. Yet the ministry seemed to be struggling in ways and somewhat distressed and perplexed. I heard a voice say "Helpful hints." I took my pen and paper and began to write as the spirit led. If you are involved in such a ministry perhaps these thoughts will encourage you.
Helpful Hints - REST
I
looked in the house. The lights were dim.
The music was low, faintly an old Hymn
"Who at my door is standing?" it said.
I saw Him waiting with somber bowed head.
Someone's at the door, could it be Him?
He who is patiently waiting for all
All who will open, all who will call.
I saw a long line of people in need
Who will take charge these people to feed?
Behold, the man at the end of the line
Hungry for love, yours and mine.
Scars in his hands, tears in his eye
Why did he die, why, I ask, why?
To drive us to labour by the sweat of our brow?
The curse has been broken
The prisoners are free. Open the door and come unto Me.
The task is noble, the work you do.
Believe me, beloved, I'm doing it, too.
I fully commend you. You've given your best.
But the reason I died was so you could rest.
Rest with the sunset, rest without alarms
Rest in peace, rest in My arms.
The mysteries of life are really quite deep.
In quiet and confidence, His beloved find sleep
You've figured and figured, the numbers I've seen,
The figures have told us the barrel is lean.
I'll share you a secret. Look straight in my eye.
Liars do figures and figures do lie.
My storehouse is not empty.
I've reserved the very best
For those who labour to enter my rest.
