The Loudest Sermon Ever Preached
(Henry Wiebe Jan. 2001)
Some
preach loud,
And some preach long.
Some preach right,
And some preach wrong.
Some preach shallow.
Some preach deep.
Some preach sermons,
That put you to sleep.
Some you throw away,
Others you keep.
But there is a sermon preached
Round the clock,
An eternal message in which you
Can take stock.
The
loudest sermon you'll ever hear
Is preached in silence
To the natural ear.
But the ears of hearts
Will never miss
The silent message of a kiss.
What is this I'm speaking of?
The kiss of love
From the Father above.
To
form the clouds
He distills the sea.
Each raindrop is a kiss for me.
They make the flowers in my garden to grow.
Just how it works,
I really don't know.
But I am sure he loves us so.
If not, we'd die of hunger and thirst.
In all His creation,
He put us first.
The
day, the night, darkness and light, sleep and rest,
Work and play.
His perfect plan,
There's no better way.
And every morning the first to rise,
And dispel the darkness from the skies,
His marvelous creation called the sun.
We take for granted all He's done.
Think how cold your life would be
Without the rays of His majesty!
Each day He shines and never grows dim.
Could you build a fire to compare to Him?
All the forest fires you could light
Would be like the scratch of a match in His sight.
He rises each day to run His race,
Always on time He sets the pace.
Preaching his sermon - Amazing grace.
In every language it's always the same,
Though spoken in silence it shouts His name.
And it says, "He's God.
He'll never change."
Uh one, and uh two, and uh three,
Are you in step; in rhythm with me?
If not, you're stumbling,
For you just can't see.
Slow down and listen to heaven's beat.
You'll rest in peace, your sleep will be sweet.
His love will sweep you off your feet,
When you stop and receive His kisses of love.
